Pegbox is recruiting for experienced CAD/CAM Programmers to join our new client on a permanent basis. Based in the East of England, this is truly an exceptional opportunity to join a company which has shown incredible growth in recent years and it continues on that trajectory. Main responsibilities: Working on exclusive, bespoke and top-class automotive projects, the CAD/CAM Programmer will be responsible for the programming of the 3 and 5 axis CNC Centres. This is for the manufacturing prototypes, first offs, limited edition or production runs of tooling and high value components. The vast majority of materials will be aluminium, but a good understanding of carbon fibre and other composite materials would be a plus. If the candidate is familiar with other materials such as plastics, stainless steel, titanium and more, it would also be an advantage. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: As well as programming responsibilities, the successful candidates will be expected to use their CAD skills to draw fixtures for one off or productions runs solutions. It will be essential to work closely with the shop floor to help streamline the machining process as well as assisting the in-house design team with feedback on machining feasibility of complex components and tooling. Assist in-house training program by training apprentices and other team members when required Experience required: * Previous experience working as a CAD/CAM programmer within a precision engineering environment is essential. This could be in automotive, aerospace, motorsport or equivalent. * Expert knowledge of aluminium machining, and ideally others such as carbon fibre, etc. Software requirement: * Our client uses Hypermill and HyperCAD software. * Those applying to work for a contract position will be expected to know this software. * Those applying for a permanent role will receive training if they have experience with other software.
