We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced candidate whose specialisation is C-130J Role Equipment (RE), its use and development, in order to provide the C-130J DT with: * An authoritative source of Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) advice on C-130J RE through the HIOS Contract * Administrative and technical assistance in the management of airworthiness and operations-related activities associated with C-130J RE. The Job will be located at RAF Brize Norton. Duties will include, but are not limited to: * Administration of those elements of HIOS Databases, including AWIS and generic TSG reporting tools, associated with RE-related EIs, F760, F765, Serious Fault Signals and Investigation Reports. * Maintaining an overview of DASOR (including MALDROPS), and Serious Fault Reports associated with RE and associated equipment and offering expert comment when requested. * Investigating, on behalf of the C-130J DT, RE faults reported on DASOR, Serious Fault Signals and Serious Fault Reports (F760). Co-ordinating the preparation of such investigation findings and recommendations for sign-off and archiving by an appropriate LoAA holder. * When tasked, undertaking activities in support of the introduction of new or modified RE to C-130J aircraft. * Liaising with the C-17 PT Airborne Equipment Team to progress approval for new or modified Airborne Equipment to be used on the C-130J aircraft through the Equipment Clearance Process. * Maintaining an overview of maintenance and logistic policy and support arrangements associated with the integration of new or modified RE on the C-130J aircraft including aircraft Publication and Maintenance Schedule amendments, Training and advising the DT, through the TSG Airframe Lead, of any significant departures from plan. * Co-ordinating and validating changes to RE Technical Publications, including Maintenance Schedules, investigating and providing comment as SME on amendment proposals submitted on F765 and acting as the technical point of contact for all matters associated with the RE technical data set. * On behalf of the C-130J DT, creation, development and monitoring of RE EI on LITS, including the input of Reference Data in conjunction, where appropriate, with CAMO & CAMSS staffs. * The ability to communicate clearly and accurately, in both written and verbal forms, is an essential requirement of the job. Communication within the TSG involves the provision of authoritative specialist advice and the articulation of facts and investigation findings to fellow TSG engineers and managers. * As the designated RE Subject Matter Expert, the incumbent will be required to provide clear factual details, both written and verbal, to the Core Engineering, Support Engineering and Technical Publications departments. The incumbent will also be required to receive and assess communications from these departments and prepare them for transmission to the customer. * Communication with external organisations is a fundamental aspect of the job. Whilst the incumbent will not be authorised to generate new data, the collation of data from existing sources, its interpretation and the formulation of recommendations arising from such data for ratification by authorised approvers will form a significant element of the job. Direct communication with the C-130 DT and other identified external agencies involving the exchange of factual data and the provision of advice based on the interpretation of existing data will be the norm. * The post will operate remotely from the core TSG and the incumbent will be expected to work without continuous direct supervision. The incumbent will be responsible for the prioritisation of work but will be expected to agree decisions with output recipients. Authorisations to check or approve the work of others will be granted, where appropriate, through the Marshall ADG approvals system. None is expected to be granted initially
