PURPOSE: This Graduate role is responsible for supporting the Purchasing Director in the day to day running of the department, whilst also supporting the dealer network and internal departments with supply and distribution. Helping to maximize new vehicle sales and customer satisfaction. This is a dual role giving the successful candidate the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience across both the Purchasing department and the Logistics department. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Collating requisitions and documentation to present for approval by Purchasing Director * Generating purchase orders and checking SAP to see which purchase requisitions have been released * Creating recommendation sheets utilising the FCA purchasing system * Liaising with central purchasing in Turin and preparing all paperwork for Head of Department to authorise * Analyse and investigate potential cost savings for the organisation * Producing analytical reports to evaluate system information * Negotiate with suppliers and maintain a preferred supplier list * Co-ordinate tenders and RFQs * Liaise with stakeholders in the business and keep up to date records of any information required * Resolution of dealer enquiries & Sales department with regards to deliveries & vehicle availability by phone and email * Analysis of stock reports to raise any issues to Supply Chain Management in Turin to ensure vehicles arrive in the UK within the correct lead time * To liaise with customs to ensure clearance of products from overseas KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: * Interest in progression in Automotive Industry * Educated to degree level within a Business related area * Problem solver; able to work under own initiative * Ability to operate under pressure / tight deadlines * Ability to think strategically * Strong communication skills at all levels of an organisation – both spoken and written * Highly organised with good attention to detail * Some previous experience of working within a logistical or purchasing environment desirable
