Business Development Manager – Testing Services for the Oil and Gas Industry Location – UK based with access to the South East Salary – To £50K plus commission and company car/car allowance Are you a Degree qualified Chemist or other scientist with experience in a demanding sales role? Do you have experience or knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry? Are you looking for the next step in your Business Development career? This company are truly a global authority within Quality Assurance, providing testing, inspection and certification services to a broad array of industries worldwide. This part of the business provides quality and quantity testing services to the global oil, gas, petrochemical, petroleum refining and distribution, biofuels, marine and chemical industries. They are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to develop their laboratory testing business, managing both existing clients and developing new clients, markets and outsourcing opportunities that allows the business to exceed its budgeted performance targets. You will also develop market knowledge to understand potential client groups and the relevant people to grow relationships with. This is a field-based UK role so you can be based anywhere, however, you will need to visit the company’s South East labs on a regular basis with occasional international travel. Reporting to the Business Development Director, this is a demanding sales role where activity and revenue actuals against targets are closely monitored. Required skills, experience and qualities: * Experience/knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry * Experience in a demanding sales role – you will evidence meeting targets * Degree level education or equivalent, ideally Chemistry orientated * Experience of working in a lab or technical environment is an advantage * Ability to develop strong working relationships within clients and internal stakeholders * Strong communication skills to interact effectively with people from multi-functional backgrounds * Strong negotiation and presentation skills * Self-motivated and able to work alone and as part of a broader team * A passion for sales and a positive attitude * Confidence and ambition * Strength in research and strategy * Full driving license For more information or to apply, please contact Diane Williams.
