Cobham Mission Systems are recruiting for a Business Development Manager (known internally as a Senior BDM) who will be responsible for driving revenue growth by leading front end pursuits and campaigns for both new technology for existing customers and new technology for new customers. This role is for our Weapons Carriage & Release products. The position is based in Wimborne, Dorset but will require frequent international travel. You will report into a Business Development Director and be supported by other BD colleagues. As a Business Development Manager your skills and experience will include: - Extensive experience as a business developer working autonomously on high-value campaigns, preferably within a military aerospace environment. Experience of air-domain weapon carriage & release products and/ or fast jet product experience. A background as an Aerospace engineer would be highly desirable, prior to career transitioning into Business Development. Experience of engaging with senior-level customer stakeholders within the global market-place. Experience as a Capture Manager using LCM, Shipley or similar life-cycle management processes. Knowledge of the weapons carriage and release market, the customer community and their operational requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Commercial acumen and negotiation competencies. As a Business Development Manager your main responsibilities will involve: - Establishing long term relationships with key decision makers of customers and end-users. Use of Cobham Business Development and Capture processes to identify, qualify and execute new opportunities. Accountability for the delivery of Order Intake, in accordance with the budget. Developing robust solutions to customer requirements and production of compelling business cases for Private Venture funding. Acting as 'voice of the customer' encouraging team behaviours that focus on adding value and delivering customer benefits. Preparation and submission of proposal documents to customers. Capture Team Manager for high-value/complex bids. Use of Customer Relationship Management database. Contributing to internal business strategy development including market analysis, product and technology roadmaps, and other marketing activities.
