Associate Project Manager required for fast growing progressive and successful international Aerospace Manufacturer. Job Title: Associate Project Manager (Permanent) Location: Cheltenham (hybrid working available) & occasional project works at other UK based sites Salary: £45000 - £48000 per annum plus benefits Hours of Work: Monday to Friday days, early finish Friday The Associate Project Manager will work as part of the Programmes Team to support the delivery and overall success of allocated projects, within a product line structure. Reporting to the Programme Manager you will work alongside Project Management, Engineering, Finance, Business Development, Quality and Operations colleagues to ensure every project is delivered successfully and adds the highest possible value to the organisation. Skills & Attributes * Demonstrable Project Management experience within Aerospace, Engineering * Thorough understanding of project management techniques and methods, including risk analysis and management, scheduling, and resource work allocation * Good knowledge of data analysis, reporting and budgeting. * Working knowledge Project management software (e.g. MS Project etc.). * Experience of working within a budget, and budget management skills. * Basic understanding of contract management and delivery * Analytical mind-set with ability to resolve problems. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels * Develop and demonstrate strong negotiation and decision-making skills. * Ability to operate under pressure and manage tight and/or competing deadlines. Duties * Support the project management activities of allocated projects within the business. * Work in line with project management best practice and company processes to consistently meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets, enabling the company to function and compete effectively in the market. * Use a risk-based approach to evaluate the challenges faced within your designated projects and lead the action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities. * Provide regular project status updates and required inputs into Product Line reporting. * Assist in identifying and deploying the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects (including the engagement of external resources) as required. * Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance, with recording on appropriate systems. * Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process, within your particular projects. * Work in the context of project management policy and guidelines ensuring effective use and control of core documentation and reporting. * Input into the continuous improvement of project management processes and practice. Build and maintain strong working relationships with external customers and internal departments. * Be the main customer interface for the allocated projects and develop a collaborative working relationship with the customer team. * Attend required meetings and action/communicate instructions to project stakeholders. * Ensure adequate resource in all areas of the business are provisioned to deliver your projects including Engineering, and production capacity. * Use exiting project management processes and policy to ensure compliance with the Gated Review process. * Work with Operations colleagues to manage workflow, planning and priorities. * Proactively escalate risks to the Programme Manager and support the management of project risks and issues. * Ensure project activities within your control are delivered within budget, providing regular financial forecasts on your projects. * Support the production of budgets and actively monitor those budgets for your project activities. * Establish and maintain strong working relationships with nominated customers to understand their contractual rights and support their needs. * Assist with the compilation of information, which supports the delivery of proposals to the Business Development Manager, to ensure accurate pricing and schedule data is presented to our customers. * Learn and develop the skills to support the business to critically understand where costs are uncompetitive and develop strategies with the management team to become more competitive.
