You could be just what ETS are looking for.As an Auto-Care Apprentice you will receive technical training as well as customer service and retail skills.
Day to day tasks will vary but include:
• Inspecting, removal, repair or replace:
o Tyres, exhausts
o Shock absorbers
o Brakes components
o Filters
o Batteries
• Customer Service:
o Answering incoming calls and queries
o Speaking with customers to advising them
o Problem Solving
• Retail:
o Speaking with suppliers
o Placing orders
o Up-sellingSkills that are desired:
• A keen interest and passion for motor vehicle
• Logical approach to problem solving
• An awareness of how to work safely
• An enthusiasm to learn new practical and theoretical skillsNo formal qualifications are needed, although a good standard of numeracy and literacy would be an advantageous.An Apprenticeship is a work-based training programme, so as well as working and being trained in ETS’s workshop, you will also attend Remit’s Academy based near Pride Park in Derby, on a 5-day block release 12 times over a period of 2 years over the 2 year apprenticeship. You will also be assigned an Apprentice Development Coach who will visit you in the workplace, every 4-6 weeks, as part of our commitment to your development and to ensure you succeed.
• Level 2 Apprenticeship Standards certificates in Auto-Care
• Functional Skills in English and Maths (if required)
N.B All accommodation, food and travel costs are met by the Employer.Future Prospects
On completion of the apprenticeship programme, you will be fully qualified as a Light Vehicle Mechanic in which you could receive an average salary between £15,000 and £24,000 a year.
