Air Personnel are delighted to be supporting their client in Plymouth for an Airworthiness Manager. We are currently recruiting for an Airworthiness Manager, who will be responsible for ensuring the Airworthiness of the organisation (which may be on the Civilian or Military Register), compliance with current legislation, monitoring of Aircraft status, ensuring the Engineering Services Department have access to maintenance data as required and the management of the Part M. The role also encompasses the line management of the Airworthiness department team, ensuring they are adequately trained and developed. Job Title: Airworthiness Manager Location: Plymouth Reporting Line: Service Delivery Director (SDD) and to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) (the Accountable Manager) for regulatory aspects Key responsibilities of the role will include: * Ensuring the aircraft and their components are maintained in an Airworthy condition. * Ensuring Airworthiness staff are both empowered and competent to complete their tasks. * Liaising with the Engineering Services and Flight Operations Departments to ensure the maximum availability of the Aircraft. * Working alongside both Compliance and the Regulators to ensure full visibility and compliance with direct and indirect legislation. * Ensuring the training team have access to data and assistance to maximize efficiency. * Promoting and assisting in positive changes across the business. * Lead a team who are both reactive and proactive in ensuring that the fleet are safe and airworthy. * Manage the airworthiness aspects of external subcontracted maintenance where appropriate. * Assist the business development team where necessary in obtaining new contracts. * Ensure that customers and regulators have maximum confidence in the organisation particularly WRT Airworthiness. * Maintain an open working relationship with both customers and regulators to ensure relevant knowledge is shared and learned from. * Manage external suppliers where required * Develop Modifications and repair schemes where appropriate. * Maintain the AMPs and Aircraft status. * Act as a Nominated Person for Continuing Airworthiness Management and Air System CDO. * Any other duties, as delegated by the SDD and MD. Selection Criteria * Broad and detailed knowledge of Part M and Part CAMO regulation (Essential) * Extensive aircraft management and maintenance experience (Essential) * Previous experience of operating within a similar role (Essential) * UK CAA Part 66 B1.3 / B2 Licensed Engineer (Desirable) * Experience of AW189, S-61 and/or AS365 N2 aircraft (Desirable) * Previous experience as a Nominated Person (Desirable) In exchange they can offer * Competitive salary * 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays) * Free Employee Assistance Programme * Life Assurance * Workplace Auto Enrolment pension scheme * Occupational Sick Pay With a number of sites across the UK and Internationally, travel will be required to UK sites in Newquay and the Midlands as well as international travel to other company sites (currently the Falkland Islands).
