A leading London recycling and waste management company, we help clients - including the construction sector, commercial premises, local authorities, and other waste management companies - manage their resources as sustainably as possible. To us that means helping clients keep materials in their highest form to retain their value, recycling as much as possible and recovering the rest of their waste to generate energy. It means operating six sites across London to maximise our efficiency and minimise transport emissions and investing in state-of-the-art technology to enable 100% diversion of waste from landfill, with all sites run on renewable energy to help minimise the carbon footprint of our operations. The Role: Reporting to Workshop Manager, the role requires servicing, diagnostics, repair, pre-MOT testing and inspection of all company vehicles and plant. All work should be to prescribed standards in accordance with the manufacturer, Department for Transport (DfT), the Operator’s Licence, to ensure all vehicles and plant are always in excellent and serviceable condition. You will always need to work in a safe and organised manner, prioritising jobs depending on the needs of the business. Key responsibilities of the role are: • To ensure all company vehicles are roadworthy and serviced within approved scheduled timeframes. • To maintain and work in a safe and clean environment. • Plan services & maintenance for vehicles not covered by manufacturers service schedules • Carry out all work in accordance to Department for Transport requirements • Managing workshop stock levels. • Preparation and presentation of vehicles and trailers for MOT inspection • To attend broken down or accident damaged vehicles and effect permanent or running repairs as required. Key competencies of the role: • Be self-motivated with an analytic mind and good eye for detail • A real can-do attitude • Work well under pressure and to timelines • A good technical knowledge of commercial vehicles and plant • Confident communicator Qualifications/Experience • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds equivalent • Class 1 driving license desirable • 5yrs+ experience working in a similar role
