SGB Head of Health & Safety We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive Head of Health & Safety to join our People & Culture team, taking responsibility for overseeing and managing all aspects of health and safety across our organisation. This role requires a strong understanding of health and safety regulations, excellent leadership qualities, influencing & communication skills.  The primary purpose of the role is to develop and implement effective strategies to ensure the well-being of our colleagues and compliance with legal requirements. In this role you will: Work closely with our external consultants to create, implement and continually improve our health and safety strategy Develop, implement and regularly review our H&S policies and processes, to reflect changes and organisational requirements Prepare Leadership Team updates on all H&S issues Work with our dedicated internal H&S Training team, ensure the training agenda meets our business needs Oversee the annual H&S audit process and fire-safety requirements across our sites, working with the business to ensure corrective actions are taken  Lead investigations into accidents and near-misses, analysing the root cause of issues, identifying any developing trends and implementing preventative measures  Lead and coordinate our risk assessments and safe systems of work  Maintain our emergency response plans and procedures for H&S-related issues Build positive working relationships with all key stakeholders and external regulatory bodies Advise and support on the H&S implications of the move to green technology and net-zero Manage the relationships with our insurers and brokers Lead the H&S team, creating a culture of collaboration and innovation, while mentoring and developing team members to support their professional growth  Contribute to Health & Safety discussions with colleagues from around the Northern European Region, sharing best practice and finding opportunities for improvement  Provide advice, guidance and support on key H&S projects such as workplace transport safety, DSEAR, contractor controls, driver safety, and colleague wellbeing  Support & coach our people leaders to understand their responsibility for creating a positive H&S culture across the network             About you: Relevant and recent experience in a similar Health and Safety role with a related degree or professional qualification (Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH)) Demonstrable experience in H&S management, with a track record of delivering effective outcomes for multi-site commercial environment   A thorough understanding of relevant H&S legislation, regulations and standards Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities  Experience within the automotive or transport sector is advantageous  Full UK driving license is essential with nationwide travel required Ability to exercise good judgement under pressure Focussed on improving and simplifying processes, making the H&S Team easy to work with  An ambassador of our Scania core values Working for Scania is not just about the job.
