On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Quality Design Engineer on an initial 12-month contract. As the Quality Design Engineer you will be working within the Quality Engineering Airframe Wing organisation, primarily in the Programme perimeter for Quality Performance activities covering all programmes and will report to the Head of Quality Engineering Airframe Series Wing. The role involves the resolution of quality issues and continuous improvement projects by setting the measurement standards and identifying/facilitating improvements to increase process performance and product adherence to standards, reliability of processes, and repeatability of processes at initial design phase before any process changes are made and continuously through the life of a product. Role: Quality Design Engineer Pay: £35.00 per hour Via Umbrella Location: Broughton or Filton Contract: Monday - Friday 35 Hours per week, 12 Months contract IR35 Status: Inside Security Clearance: BPSS Responsibilities Drive and deliver improvement projects in order to support the achievement of the Engineering Wing quality targets (Primary activity of role) Facilitate and support root cause analysis & practical problem solving activities Establish and drive corrective and preventive action plans in order to support the improvement of engineering performance and its associated deliverables Identify risks/issues relating to the quality of the engineering deliverable and facilitate, support and drive standardised mitigation plans in order to prevent/mitigate risk linked to the product and its related processes Support the deployment of Quality standards and apply them within the Engineering organisation. Capture lessons learned in order to improve organisation efficiency and product maturity Essential Skills: Relevant Quality and/or Engineering Experience Project Management knowledge Understanding of Failure modes effects analysis Understanding of root cause analysis techniques (e.g. 9S, 8D etc.) Be able to demonstrate appropriate people skills and associated behaviours when interacting with all levels of the management structure The ability to learn quickly, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the workload Have exceptional communication and English skills, both verbal and written Have excellent IT skills as appropriate to the role (Google Workspace/Microsoft Office) Desirable Skills Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management and Product Data Management Systems Understanding of Engineering Drawing and Modification management Experience in a Design or Manufacturing Engineering Environment would be beneficial although not essential Ability to communicate in German both verbally and in written form are highly beneficial although not essential Programming experience (Javascript, Google apps script, Python…) are highly beneficial although not essential If you are interested in applying for this position and you meet the requirements, please send your updated CV to: Natalie Dalkin at Line Up Aviation Line Up Aviation has carved its own place in the recruitment of Aviation and Aerospace personnel all over the world for more than 30 years.
