Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain are currently recruiting for a Commodity buyer to work for a successful business supplying innovative turbocharging systems into the automotive industry. My client is a UK leading production, wholesale and distribution company at the forefront of their industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying cost down opportunities, new product introduction, and implementing improvements in inventory management in the business. You will be involved in both local and global sourcing initiatives, negotiating pricing and contracts, developing new suppliers, as well as looking for supplier reduction and leverage activities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintaining pricing structures, cost reduction strategies and high quality of overall supplier performance
Conduct strong negotiations with supplier in order to continually deliver year on year reductions in cost
Source new competitive suppliers that meet automotive quality standards and timescales
Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain would be interested in hearing from applicant with the following experience:
Ideally educated to Degree level in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or related field
A minimum five years' experience in purchasing (Automotive / Engineering would be a distinct advantage)
Experience of working from an MRP system (ideally SAP or R3)
Proven experience in negotiating significant cost savings with suppliers
Strong communication skills
Experience in dealing with overseas suppliers
